Only 2.5% of the world water is drinkable. In a recent study by the Global Environment facilities, it was reported that drinkable water is diminishing , as world wide demand for drinkable water is increasing. So the cost of obtaining drinkable water is increasing. Part of the problem is pollution on most of rivers& lakes. Many countries , including GCC countries are obtain their water through a distillation plants that extract salt from sea water and chemically treating the water so to make it drinkable. Many poor countries suffer from the lack of fresh water and people have no choice but to drink polluted water , which can cause the spread of disease and many other health hazards. |
