  • Do not smile to a stranger, especially if you are a women. A smile are often interpreted as an invitation to men to approach women in most of the Middle Eastern countries. If a man smile to a stranger it might be interpreted in many wrong ways and can cause a problem. So it is better that you stay cool and say "Hi only to someone that you know.
  • Eating: When you go out to eat in GCC countries, you have to be careful in selecting the place you are going to. There are restaurants that only men go to. There are family restaurants and there are restaurants where they have 2 separate seating, one area for single men, and another area for families and females only. Another important matter , is that the look of the waiters, if they look dirty, stay away as you might get food poisoning. Your best place for having a good meal will be in brand name restaurants( MacDonald's, Pizza Hut etc..) and in 5 & 4 stars hotels.
  • Taxi: We advice you not to use regular taxis in most of GCC countries , especially in Kuwait & Saudia Arabia., The taxies are not clean and they over charge you.
  • Public Places: The biggest problem in public places in GCC countries and in all Middle Eastern countries, is that there are no toilets , and if there are any then they are in a terrible shape, Avoid public toilets , its not a nice experience, You will spoil your day when you enter one...... ifffff. If you need a toilet then it is better that you go into a hotel.
  • Women: Women in GCC countries, except Saudia Arabia & Qatar are free to go out and dress as they like, however revealing dresses are not recommended. Foreign women visiting these countries should be careful. If a women become  friendly , they think she is easy to go to bed with. Also foreign women should have another companion with her when she go out to old Bazaar & Markets. In New shopping Centers , a woman can go shopping alone without any problem.
  • Driving: Driving can be a frightening experience , especially if you are used to the organized western world. Do not be scared. Just drive with causes. British & Australian Drivers need to know how to drive on the left side. Be careful many motorist do not stick to the speed limit.
