Arabian  Cuisine

There are many Arabic restaurants in Dubai , however we will concentrate on the best Lebanese restaurants and some restaurants that you should avoid for one reason or another.

Mawal Restaurant: Located in the new Bustan Hotel , is considered an excellent Lebanese Restaurant. The food is fresh & tasty. The service is outstanding. Arabic Music & Belly dancing is a nightly program. Prices are High.

AL TANOOR: This considered the best Lebanese restaurant with live shows nightly. Good atmosphere , food & drinks. Prices are High. The management is not so friendly nor hospitable. Table reservation , even if it is done in advance by phone , is not guaranteed.

AL Mandaloun: They have 82 dishes for mezza "appetizer". This restaurant is famous in Dubai for Lebanese food. Located at ALKhaleej Palace in Diera. Tel.231000 

Automatic Restaurant:

It is a chain restaurant with a reasonable quality and service , which are typical of Lebanese restaurants.

French

There are very few French restaurants in Dubai. Meriden Airport have one.

Italian

Avanti: The worst Italian restaurant that have to be avoided, located in the Princeton Hotel , Dubai. The food taste nothing as Italian...Do imagine that they do not have Parmesan Cheese and they do not serve Olive Oil unless you ask them specifically. Service is not that good. The only good thing about this restaurant is atmosphere.

San Lorenzo: This is an excellent restaurant with authentic Italian food. Delicious home made pasta , intimate surroundings Located in Metropolitan Palace Hotel.  Tel.04-270000

Grotto Italiano

Casa Mia; located in Meridian Diera ( next to Airport). It is a fair restaurant in terms of menu. however since it is located behind the hotel , it is not situated properly.

Cucina

Johny Carrino:

A nice family type restaurant in Festival City mall , prices and menu are good.

Iranian

Shabestan Restaurant: Located in Intercontinental Hotel , is considered the best Iranian restaurant in Dubai. Prices are high , but you will enjoy the atmosphere & the nice food.

Sharazad Restaurant: An excellent Iranian restaurant, with a nice atmosphere. Try the appetizer mix & the grilled meat mix. Of course you will enjoy the hot Iranian bread. Caviar is a good choice for appetizer. for desert , try Faloda "Iranian desert". This restaurant is located in the Hyatt Hotel , Mezz. Floor.

Indian

Dubai is full with Indian restaurant , due to the large Indian population. However there are only  a few real good ones.

International

Al Dawar Restaurant is located at the top of Hyatt Regency. Experience a nice view of Dubai & the gulf while eating as the restaurant rotate.

Trader Vic's: A tropical , Polynesian cuisine. They have cocktail and live music. Located at Crown Plaza. This is a place of get together for Europeans residing in Shaikh Zayed Road.

Western Steakhouse: If you like steak , then this is the place to be. Located in the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Japanese Restaurants

Maiyako Restaurant: Located at Hyatt Regency is considered a good Japanese restaurant. many business people take lunch here. It is famous for its Tapanyaki cooking

Sea Food

The best Sea Food Restaurant , is located in the outskirt of Sharjah " Sanobar Restaurant" .........not in Dubai.......

Sanobar is family owned and operated , that's why it is a great restaurant. It is a Lebanese restaurant , but Sea Food is there specialty. Try the daily fresh fish , you will love it. The prices are very reasonable. You can not find a restaurant like this one anywhere in the GCC countries. It is clean and the food is fresh and the cooking is great! What else you need. No reservation required , unless you have a banquet which they can also accommodate.

This is a very clean and very good restaurant , although it location is not a prime location. Atmosphere is not elegant. It is a casual place with good food and low prices.

Gulf Sea Food: Located in Le Meridian Hotel , Jumeirah.Tel.845555

The Marina Seafood: Located in Jumeirah Beach Hotel.Tel.480000

Seafood Market: Located in Le Meridian Dubai.Tel.824040

Sea World: is located in Shaikh Zayed Rd. It has a fish market display of over 30 meter with the widest choices of Fish & Sea Food. World class Chef will cook it for you. The atmosphere is very nice. they also have private rooms. Tel.04-3211500 , email: seafood@emirates.net.ae

The Aquarium: located in Dubai Creek & Golf Club have a nice menu of Sea Food. The big fresh water aquarium is the main attraction. We recommend the Sea Bass or local Hamour.
